About FileMeta Wipe
What the browser-local metadata remover does, its limits, and how to contact support.

What this product does
FileMeta Wipe is a browser-based document metadata remover. The homepage tool reads PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF files locally and creates a downloadable copy without uploading the document to our server. An account is not required for this local cleanup.
PDF cleanup targets the Info dictionary and document-level XMP stream. DOCX and XLSX cleanup clears core, extended and custom document properties in docProps. CSV cleanup removes a UTF-8 BOM and an initial Excel sep= line; it does not remove cell values. Image cleanup removes supported embedded metadata according to format while retaining image pixels and color profiles.
What it does not promise
Metadata cleanup is not anonymization or redaction. Personal information in body text, comments, tracked changes, hidden sheets and attachments can remain. Faces, text and landmarks visible in images also remain. The input limit is 64 MiB per file; old DOC/XLS, videos and encrypted PDFs are unsupported. Review the downloaded document before sharing it.
How to check our claims
The homepage verification steps explain a non-sensitive DOCX test and independent inspection. We describe limitations alongside capabilities. Updates to this explanation use the revision date shown on the page; an update date is not a certification or audit claim.
